Under the Stars with The Sedarises

When Cafe Drake heard that the wildly talented siblings David and Amy Sedaris had collaborated for the first time and written a new play we were intrigued. Discovering it would be performed on the lawn at Park Slope's historic Old Stone House further whetted our appetite for al fresco laughs. And then no sooner had we discovered it was a FREE event that Cafe D and pal Jen L. hopped in the car and motored over on a muggy July evening to sprawl out with tasty victuals, red wine and the hilarious stylings of the Sedaris' Book of Liz performed by the talented and versatile Piper Theater company. Cynthia and pals soon pulled up and a festive yet relaxing weekend evening ensued. (We're used to festive, relaxing not so much).

Noshes included: saucisson, Kasseri and Alpine sheep cheeses, corn salad, arugula salad with shaved Parmesan, stuffed grape leaves, crusty French bread and Cheshire Canning's Bread and Butter Pickles. Delish!
