A Day in Millerton

On the hunt for antiques, charming small town ambiance, lunch and tea, Cafe Drake HRV met Susan McKeever-Duys in Millerton, NY for an afternoon visit.

above photos: Tea merchants Harney & Sons have stores and tasting rooms in SoHo (NYC) and Millerton. We sampled several varieties out of the hundreds available after lunching in the quaint attached cafe.

Much of Millerton remains cozy in its time capsule; old-school variety shops hawking hunting gear, tobacco and ice cream sodas still exist. Ditto for small town, single story-department stores and vintage signage. All coexisting alongside galleries, tapas bars, upscale restaurants, an art house cinema, herbalists, gourmet grocers and antique shops.
