The Late Gifts of the Garden

Tat soi, a close relative of bok choy, thrives in cooler temperatures and even survives mild-moderate frosts.

On their last legs, or vines, the tomato plants are still yielding a few heirloom specimens.


Honey Drop cherry tomatoes were a BIG hit this summer at Cafe Drake HRV; above sits the final harvest of the season. Sigh.

Lucky for us we have a generous neighbor with a  huge chestnut tree!
Broccoli rabe actually improves in taste and texture once the nights grow chillier.
