The Garden in Winter. Sigh.

The last carrot of the season.

Dead and dying vegetable vines, plucked and discarded. Sigh, again.

Cafe Drake HRV's thriving dill patch survived several hard frosts but succumbed to a first early snow in November. We rescued as much as we could and dried on baking sheets - about one hour in the oven at its lowest possible temperature. After an hour turn off the oven and leave the dill, or any herbs you wish to preserve, to dry for another hour. Remove from oven and crumble into tightly sealed glass jars or plastic bags.

Winter's cold blue light silhouettes more drying herbs.
