Cafe Drake Catches a Cold

Whenever a pesky bug invades our system, leaving us mildly feverish and upset at stomach and heart, Cafe Drake wraps ourselves in comfort: Turkish cotton pajamas, cashmere sweaters and throws, copious quantities of champagne and grappa and the company of good friends like Jenifer Ruske. Under the weather but unwilling to cancel dinner plans, Cafe D hosted Ruske for a grilled chicken curry dinner, cooked tabletop and sided with basmati pilaf, raita and mango chutney. Christmas sweets still in the house followed dinner (marzipan, chocolate apricots and yet more peppermint bark), as did some impromptu dancing. Looks like Jen and her bottle of Veuve Cliquot were just what the doctor ordered!
