Thordis Adalsteinsdottir Returns to NYC

Yes indeed, Thordis A rolled back into our hometown for a short visit and Cafe Drake snagged the chance to spend a fun and art-filled afternoon with TA in Long Island City; first, at PS1, then a lysergic opening at nearby Sculpture Center complete with a German doorman manning the velvet ropes (immediate entry for us of course), underground illegal gambling tables and pitch-black doused installations drawing upon light and subtle movement for grand, uncanny effect. Snacks followed at Cafe Henri (1010 50th Ave at Vernon Blvd., Long Island City, NY 718/383-9315 . . .sister location at 27 Bedford St in West Village) where Cafe Drake enjoyed a lovely French Riesling ($6) and a very rare but juicy Cheeseburger ($9) with Roasted Rosemary Potatoes and Baby Green Salad.
