New Year's Eve 2007/08

Thankfully Cafe Drake hit up Thordis' and Cynthia's New Year's Eve Party at Cynthia's stylin' loft in East Williamsburg/Bushwick, Brooklyn for a rollicking good time this year, ringing in 2008 with a wicked fun crowd and some of our closest compadres. The R&B-meets-Hip Hop playlist evoked the sound of West London, as did the industrial landscape outside the windows and eclectic guests, but Cynthia and hubby Brian's pad is straight outta sunny LA.
Bi-coastal vibes always gel with varied partygoers and copious amounts of bubbly (seriously, 30 bottles plus plus!!) and rum punch . . . not to mention the tastiest sandwiches east of the Mississippi (thick artisinal loaves spread with black olive tapenade, aged Provolone and spicy meats - delish!)

See above many photos of many people you know from this site. And if we get the sandwich recipe from Cindy, we'll share soon.
Forever a fan of varied experiences, Cafe Drake ended a legendarily late evening at an "unlicensed" Puerto Rican after-hours "bar" on southern Kent Avenue, soaking up the speakeasy flavor so reminiscent of Prohibition-era New York. Sadly most of the patrons refused to have their pictures taken for a plethora of reasons (a few brave souls can be seen above).
HAPPY NEW YEAR'S to ALL!!!!!
