Dinner and Drinks (and Drinks)

Sometimes it's OK to have friends over for dinner even when you have little to serve. Hell, we recently based a super-caj party (of sorts) around a Caesar Salad. Now a classic to be sure, and made true to its 1924 origins in Tijuana (do some googling if remotely interested), but light main course fare nonetheless. Appetites were also cared for with sangria and bruschetta of grape tomatoes, serrano chiles, cilantro and crumbled chevre and a dessert of raspberry cobbler with cream. Coffee, a few syrupy cordials and an episode of Meadowlands left us ready to hit the bars; drinking abandon ensued at Greenpoint's lovely Black Rabbit and Manhattan Avenue's still scary Mark Bar.
