Sizzling Sausages





A recent dinner at Cafe Drake may have proved too spicy for our friend David Sellers. Citrus-flavored vodka coolers started the evening off in a refreshing manner, but tastebuds were soon ignited by an entree of homemade Pakistani sausages (composed of ground turkey, chickpea flour, chiles, onions and fenugreek seeds), placed atop brown rice pilaf and crowned with mango chutney and cucumbers in a creamy yogurt sauce. A vinegary salad of lola rossa lettuce and chopped garlicscapes provided a cooling counterpoint.
