Still Building Perfect Tostados

As we've said before many times, don't deep fry your tortillas to create crunchy tostados, bake them. Just lightly rub corn tortillas with a bit of vegetable oil and then bake in a 400 degree F. oven 5-6 minutes per side. The tostados will become even crispier as they cool. Now top with spicy black beans warm from the skillet.

Next Cafe Drake HRV adds roasted asparagus and red bell peppers. We call these our Spring Tostados!

Of course any sort of roasted or sauteed veggie will do.

Some freshly made pico de gallo is now sprinkled over all.

The whole glorious, messy masterpiece comes together with pickled red onions and crumbled queso fresco strewn over all surfaces. The final topping is a drizzle of sour cream thinned with milk and enhanced with minced cilantro and green chilies.
