Lobster for Dinner at Jen Ruske's Home
Can anyone think of a better July 4th Weekend meal than our own Northeastern lobsters coupled with fresh corn? Maybe only if you add to the mix fresh local Long Island raspberries for dessert and the impeccable hosting skills of Greenpoint's own Ms. Jen Ruske.
Cafe Drake was lucky enough to be invited to a pas de deux dinner in Jen's a/c cooled paradise of a kitchen, seduced early on with rum cocktails and creamy and pungent sheep's milk cheese and salted just-plucked baby radishes of every shade and hue.
Adding to the allure was boiled, then pan-seared, lobster in plenty of brown butter and frazzled scallions, expertly combined with roasted potatoes, farm-fresh corn salad and plenty of good sourdough bread to soak up the leftover juices.
