Frigid winter evenings heat up quickly when a good friend drops by for a casual dinner. Especially when we sup in the living room flattered by late-season Christmas tree lighting and warmed to our souls with TiVo'd episodes of our fave series, Glee. Further face-reddening occurs after multiple Sidecars, bottles of Cab and sips of old port wine.Above: Cafe Drake pulled out all subcontinental stops with an Indian meal for Ruske and Lazzaro of: ground lamb with mint, carrots and peas; cumin-caraway basmati pilaf; roasted okra; chicken with green mangoes; red lentil dhal and cucumber raita (yogurt sauce) and ginger paratha (Indian flatbread). We so love friends without food quirks and TV prejudice and have decided to spend 2010 cooking only for those who eat and watch absolutely everything!
