Miki Makes Birthday Cake

This week Cafe Drake strolled a few chilly blocks to Miki S's warm and cozy Greenpoint home for a lovely and lively dinner with her friends Adriana and Edgar (celebrating a recent birthday). The meal was tasty as always with mulled wine, house-spiced nuts, Spanish-inspired shrimp in a butter-garlic sauce, chicken with basil and Parmesan, sauteed sweet potatoes and a sparkler-lit apple cake in honor of the birthday boy. Lots of good cheer, conversation and plenty of bubbles made this yet another delightful evening at Cafe Berry (see Miki's house mascot - Berry - above).
