Cafe Drake Birthday Dinner Part I











Always a good idea to spread the festivities over a birthweekend, and Cafe Drake was treated to a very special dinner Thursday evening courtesy of Thordis and David H. After presents and bubbles we settled into plates of whole baked trout, drizzled with a fennel and mushroom sauce and nestled beside home-pickled beets and bleu cheese. Things hot during dessert as peaches were torched stovetop along with grappa, butter and brown sugar, then delivered tableside with ice cream and crowned with candles. Many thanks to T & D for this lovely evening.
